General / App Purchase
No, this is not possible. You have to purchase the app on the other platforms.
Open the “Play Store App” and tap on your profile icon, then select “Payments & subscriptions.” There you will find a list of your subscriptions, where you can cancel any subscriptions.
In the main menu (top right) go to “Unlock Additional Features”. When “purchased” appears in the button, instead of the purchase price, the add-on is active and available. If not, restart the app and try again.
Everything that is available in both apps works and behaves the same. We’re using the same data sources and algorithms on both platforms. However, the iOS version of AeroWeather has been around a few years longer than the Android version. That’s why the Android version still lags behind. Though, we plan to add most missing features, starting with the most requested features. Contact us, if you have an opinion on that!
Usage
After creating a new group with the “+” icon (bottom right), tap on the groups name. Then use the search button (top right) to search for station(s). In the result list, select the stations you want to add and click the arrow/check button. (bottom right)
When in a group, use “Import/Export” and click on “Share” to send a group to another device using GMail. This also works on iOS devices. Click on the attachment in the mail app to import the group into AeroWeather.
We try to continuously add more stations. If an airfield is missing don’t hesitate to simply mail it to us. As METAR/TAF data primarily comes from US NOAA AviationWeather, we check first if data is available.
A few stations do not (or just during daytime) report data or US NOAA/DWD not provide them. Please try to find another airport nearby.
Settings
You can set the wind direction arrow to “from” or “to” in the option menu “Format”.
You can set the appropriate type of location indicator in the option menu “Format”, which will be used throughout the app.
